Alagna vs Zermatt. Which is more crowded?

by Attila the Hun » Fri Jul 21, 2006 3:03 pm

I'm planning on 4-5 days walking/climbing around a couple of the 'easier' 4000ers on the Monte Rosa massif in the first week of August. Flying into Milan and want to know which side is the more crowded? I've heard that Zermatt gets very crowded, but I havent heard that much about the Italian side? I'd appreciate any suggestions or observations. :D

The hut and the routes on all of these are very crowded at that time of the year. They are mostly ant trails ifthe weather is good.

Cheers
