Avalanche Warning

by beaudittl » Sat Mar 06, 2010 10:22 pm

This is in addition to my post a few days ago. I have heard that DEC recently released a comment for avalanche warnings in the High Peaks. My plan was to climb cascade and porter this coming week. Anyone that is CERTAIN of the trail, please shed some light on this topic. I know any mountain could let loose, but does either of these peaks seem avalanche prone?

You will not be in the path of any slides on this trip, I wouldn't worry. Cascade and Porter is a nice dayhike, I hope you have a clear day! the views are great!. I usually save hikes like this for the clear days.

From the reading I've done that's what I thought but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks a lot for the help, definitely pleasant news. The weather is expected to be clear so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Happy trails!
