Benini, Bocchette ferratas - conditions

by dmiki » Mon Jun 09, 2008 10:50 pm

Hello,

We are planning on doing the Benini, Bocchette Alte, and Bocchette Centrali ferratas on 6/19-22. Could you share with us what the current snow (weather and other) conditions are (or might be on these dates)? Is it too early in the season? Do we need to bring crampons / ice axes?

I would say that it is still too early and too much snow. Please check webcams on this website:

I was there almost two weeks ago. Bocchette Centrali was OK without crampons and axe from Bocca di Brenta to Bocchetta del Campanile Basso and snow was melting rapidly. I heard that the rest was OK too, but we were just going to the Basso. I also heard that Bocchette Alte still had snow, but it may have changed. SOSAT was completely free. No news about Benini.
