The NPS site says the shuttle to Wonder Lake doesn't start until June 8th. How to you get up the road before then? Car? Bike? hitchhike? Walk????

Permits are required to drive private vehicles on the Park Road past the Savage River bridge. Previous groups have flown to Kantishna, taken skis or a dogsled (this probably won't work if you intend to go in early June or late May) or bicycles (which involved a fair amount of carrying the bikes). It has been a low-snow year, so it's possible that the road might be snow-free before June 8.
