Has anyone been up Lee Vining Canyon recently? Is the ice in shape? Is there significant snow on the approach or is it miserable talus?

The ice on the left side of Chouinard Falls is in. There's also some more ice farther up the canyon that's in. You could piece together a couple nice mixed lines on the Main Wall. Bring rock pro in addition to screws. Get an early start and watch the ice conditions carefully on the thinner ice. The temperatures are getting warm now and the sun is getting higher in the sky. The approach doesn't have much snow on it. It'll be a lot of boulder hopping.

Any ice in LVC yet? Probably not, but I thought I'd ask.

Too much deep soft snow to bother with a painful approach right now......
