My daughter is in the valley and said you can't see anything. The park is offering vouchers for free entry if the current campers want to leave.

Curious how this fire is affecting Yosemite Valley visitation. And nearby peaks (Half Dome, Cloud Rest, Dana)? Is Hwy 120 closed? Did it ever open? Is smoke staying on the west side of Sierra Nevada? Thanks for any updates.

My daughter arrived prior to the fire getting really bad. She's there with a friend and her mom. Not sure why they haven't left.

edit- they were going to leave yesterday, but figured they'd wait one more day as it seemed to clear somewhat. This morning it was much better but got much worse later (I'm sure wind direction), she also said there had many helicopter rescues of hikers up on trails because of the intense smoke. I did not ask how she knew of this.

Wildfire smoke isn’t keeping tourists away from Yosemite
