Finding partners after showing up?

by sloggmeister » Fri Oct 27, 2006 4:26 pm

I was thinking about just booking a ticket and flyling down to Mexico in the beginning of January to climb the volcanos . I don't have anybody to climb with yet.
How hard do you think it would be to find a ride to the volcano and join up with another group while down there? I'd rather not climb alone. Do you think climbers would be open to taking on an extra partner? How hard would it be to show up and find a guide?

It would be easier to find partners for Orizaba only due to the increased chance of meeting climbers at one of the two usual climbing hostels in the village. Either family could arrange a guide for you but make it easy and give them some advanced notice. Guide and transportation information can be found on the Orizaba page. Cheers!
