You can still hike and scramble and shit though, right?

Oh, I will be doing tons of that to get to some of my choicest fishing holes.

Amazingly, this is a grand opportunity to actually see them hills and enjoy them for what they are and not for what they can give me as far as a route or a climb.

It will also allow me more ops to go out with my Wife. She loves to throw a fly in the stream and catch them little Brookie and Golden buggers.

Whole new perspective on life... whole new challenge. The way I like it actually.

Glad to hear about your new focus on fishing and that you can still hike/scramble! Best wishes!

Those grapes probably tasted like shit, anyway....

You're the man Chief! The hills will accept you any way they can get you.

Has anyone thought of the poor trout that are very nervous to hear this news? :D

Sorry to hear about it, Chief.
Try looking at some holistic/diet remedies, at least for the arthritis. Read some blurbs here and there, like the http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/, in regards to healing arthritis, such as drinking pineapple juice, cherry juice, etc. Might do a bit of research in that area.

Best of luck with the new perspective; you've certainly got the right attitude to see you through this next chapter.

Beautiful country down there. My son and I were just down, cruised to Galen Rowell's gallery, stopped for the famous beef jerky, then took him on a gondola ride up to the top of the mountain, which he liked but it only whet his appetite for some winter skiing there. Next day, visited my old stomping grounds, as we hiked to Minaret lake and dipped in her cool waters. Love the east side.

Good luck fishing! And may your knee let you continue to enjoy the outdoors.
