Killen Creek TH access and rote conditions in 2015

by clmbr » Mon Apr 13, 2015 10:20 pm

I wonder when the access to Killen Creek TH might become available this year (from both sides). Is there any particular website with roads and routes condition updates related to Mt Adams area? I’m planning a trip to the Cascades in June/July preferably sooner than later.

Thanks

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest website posts current road conditions, but it is not always up to date. Best bet is to call the Mt Adams ranger station and ask.

It does look like it will be an early opening this year. For Rd 2329: "04/2015: Open from north to Killen Creek campground; open from south to Takhlakh Lake campground; closed by snow between Killen and Takhlakh"

That’s the problem I encountered in the past. One time the road was even ripped off (and not passable from south) due to washouts.

Thanks for the info and link.
