Multiple names

by frotveit » Wed Oct 05, 2011 6:33 pm

Some times a peak has more than one name, typical in different languages. If it is a border peak, it is not straight forward to say which is the correct one. Could we have a field to put that alternative name in? That is included in searches.

An example: Pic de Medecourbe (this page, I assume the French name) is named Pic de Medacorba on Andorran/Spanish maps.

Hola frotviet. You can get around this problem by using the Query name as the alternative spelling. Both will work for searches. Then, in the body of the text you can englarge on the spelling differences (or in some cases completely different names! I know from French/Spanish maps...)
Saludos.
