Can I get away with the Nepal Evo's for Mt. Washington in March? I've got a pair of Baruntse's that I know will be suitable, but would like to wear the Nepal Evos if I can get away with it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

probably depends on how warm your feet run and the conditions on the given day. i've climbed on mt. washington many times in my nepals. some days i had warm feet, other days my feet were dang cold.

I will be camping this weekend in the whites wearing my Nepal evos. We are hiking the bonds over three days. I haven't hiked with my evos yet, but last year I did Franconia ridge in January and two other hikes wearing my leather Asolo backpacking boots and I was fine. I wasn't camping last year.

Bring both in the car and check the forecast before you head up. There are often March days where you would really want the Baruntse. More than likely, you'll be just fine in the Nepals.

The Evos are my go-to winter boot for the Whites. Have done all 48 in winter using them with zero problems (neither blisters from sweat nor cold toes). I've worn them to the summit of Washington in winter 6 different times, and have done two presi-traverses in winter, all in comfort. In one Washington summit climb the Mt. Washington Observatory was clocking a temp of minus 5, with 80mph winds and 110mph gusts (-50 degrees with windchill). The boots were fine.
