Conditions- Mont Blanc - 3 Mounts Traversee

by Alpinechallenges » Sat Jul 25, 2009 1:10 pm

Hey,

I will be in Cham. around the 7-11th of Aug. and I am hoping to climb Mont Blanc via the 3 mounts Traversee. with two or three friends.
Can anyone tell me what the conditions are at the moment? Any recent serac issues? Is there a pretty good trail packed in or will it require some route finding? Any recent snowfall? How busy has it been this summer?

Thanks for your help,

Michael Spencer

Though my climb is planned for later in the season (last weekend of August), I'd also be interested in knowing the current condition of the route. Thanks.

Was on the three Monts a few weeks ago. There are so many climbers leaving the Cosmiques hut every morning for this climb that you can see the trail going up.

We had no problem even in dark finding our way...we scouted it out from the hut the day before which helped, watched the other climbers going up or coming down it...

Have fun!!
