Is it worth it? Or are there more worthy peaks you would do in the Himalaya? Since it would be something I would like to do with the wife, it couldn't be too exposed or technical. This seems like an easy trekking peak?

Dude, you guys over in Europe have quite a bit more of vacation.

Lhakpa Ri is a great mellow 7000er. Well worth the effort. If you have the time, definitely go and do it. You can do Europe in a much shorter time window and at any time of the year. The Himalaya can only be done (comfortably) a couple of times a year and is a much bigger deal.

The main benefit is to be a part of the Everest season and community. It adds so much more to the experience. You'll be going through Tibet to E base camp (5200m), then hiking up to advanced base camp (6400m) where you'll live and acclimatize. The climb is about 600 meters vertical (1 day) and will offer incredible photo opportunities of the Everest North face. It's full value, for sure.

Europe and South America are cool, but they can't touch the Himalaya. Despite the bad press it gets, Everest is one of the raddest places on Earth, you should definitely go there while you have the chance. Enjoy!

Any tips on well priced organizations? I kind of got a sticker shock when I looked at the trip price: about 9-10k without flight Aconcagua for example is about 3-4k. Most companies count about 24 days. Can it be done quicker? I was thinking maybe 10-12 days since I don't really need to acclimate much up to 15k orso.

10-12 days for a 7000er, are you Nepalese or something. All I can say is that cutting corners isnt the way to approach this type of climb.

Well, I read up a bit on Aconcagua before and 12 days seems a doable timeframe for that mountain. Since Lhakpa Ri is barely lower and probably easier (it's pretty much a hike up to 21500'), I figured one should be able to do it much quicker than 24 days.

So, it's more of a question than anything . Why is it that you need a lot more time for Lhakpa Ri than Aconcagua?

Not Nepalese either but I can easily acclimate to 14k locally, so that's obviously a big plus.

I do realize though that not leaving much of a timeframe for weather isn't the best way to go...

For $1.7k more, you get the full service with food and everything though. For such a long time frame, that's probably worth it. Man, it looks tempting. Then maybe Cho Oyu another year . Someone give me time!
