Parts of Angeles NF have reopened!

New fire. Big one. West end of the Angeles Ntl Forest. I just drove past it on the 210 coming back from Jacinto this afternoon. Here is the link:

Yeah, the other west end. The one most people call the "east" end.

I saw that sign too, but I figured they just forgot to remove it because there were no other signs and plenty of people parked at Manker Flats.

The wind must be really pushing that new "Sheep Fire" along.

Called the Visitor Center a couple hours ago (Sunday, 2pm). Ranger said Baldy's open for hiking.

Another question/wrinkle: ACH is closed, but can you ride a bike on it? Also, at what point did they close it?

I'm sure you can ride your bike on it. You might just get yelled at or kicked out but that's a different story

Fatdad, dunno. From what I hear, it's closed to all traffic.

That wouldn't surprise me. I was just thinking it would be an awesome time to get out there on a road bike and own the road. Probably would have a ton of debris on it though.

It actually didn't look too bad from the pics that were posted a while back. I wouldn't go through the turns at mach 1 but it should definitely be well rideable.
