Some of you seem to forget that the Sierra Club has put up more summit registers than anyone in California. You and the SC on the same side, fighting together against the pseudo-environmentalists! Must make you smile

I've seen some summit register boxes that should be considered trash, but they are mostly on popular peaks that have easy access. I'd much prefer a trailhead register on peaks that see tons of traffic. On summits that take a bit of work to get to, the registers are wonderful finds.

Agreed. The ones on places like Black Mesa or whatever always seem to be the ones which collect business cards and the like. I don't even bother to sign the one on Humphreys, which I was up for the godknowshowmanyth time yesterday. But the ones on obscure peaks that go back to the 50's and have like fifteen people in them rock!
