Has anyone been watching this, is it up to his usual standards?

I have been and it's standard Burns, which means pretty darn good. I was a little disappointed though, in that it's really more of a history of the Park Service than a profile of the individual parks.

Are you just now gettting it Charles? :)

I moved back in Sept, went a little while w/out cable, and finally got it just so I could watch this series.
Very good, I thought. Typical fare from Burns, but, being the outdoor enthusiast and fan of the national parks that I am, I especially loved it.
It is about the national parks, so expect plenty of history, rather than profiles of the parks. I thought he did a great job of showing the history and development of the park system, and the heros(imo) who had the foresight and vision to actively fight for saving these special spaces. Plus, he did show portraits, however brief, of many of the parks.
Excellent stuff. Enjoy.
