Atomic Tour Guide for ski mountaneering?

by climbxclimb » Tue Jan 05, 2010 8:37 pm

Any experience with Atomic Tour Guide skis?
I am thinking to buy a used pair of these and pair them up with the Silvretta 500 bindings and use the Spantik as boots.
I would use this set up to approach alpine routes, and I should add that I am a beginner skier.
Suggestions?

Approaching alpine routes isn't ski mountaineering - for a rolling approach that sounds perfect. For sending a line down a real slope, it'll be lousy at best.

Thanks for the info...and it is true... my mistake about the ski mountaineering, as I said I am a beginner skier even in terminology... I mean to use them to approach the climbs and not to go down 40 degrees slopes...
