has anyone climbed Mount St. Elias? There is no trip report on sp.

I tried to climb it from the beach last May. 24 days on the mountain (turned around at 12k due to avy conditions, waited a week @ 10,500 in poor weather, humbling experience).

i see you climbed in your ski boots too. they talked about that in the video. great report you should put it on sp. st.elias doesnt have a page yet

That was Taylor Woodward's write up (not mine). Anybody with an itch for that peak should feel free to contact me for beta though, I'd be happy to help out.

Wow that looks intense. I would love to go for St Elias someday.

I saw it at the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival, and I have mixed feelings. While the photography is absolutely stunning and the camerawork spotless, I just didn't like the story, and most of the skiers, especially the two main characters, appeared as complete dicks, so much so that in the end I couldn't bring myself to care whether they would succeed or not.
But still, I'm glad I saw the movie, just because of the visuals.

I was wondering about that! From what I could tell from their website, your review is in line with my suspicions... nice detective work... thanks... I still want to see it in HD on the big screen, but at least my expectations for the film are back in line with reality...
