SMI Winter Travel and Anchors

Can anyone comment on how this course will prepare you for bigger mountains. Would the skills learned be enough for Rainier or is this just a starting point.

I am thinking of thinking of the 2 day weekend that covers snow travel and anchors for crevasse rescue.

Thanks

I only took the first day course but a LOT of focus on self arrest, then on to ropework after lunch, PM me and I can send you our agenda of what we did. Will probably prepare you.

I took the course a couple years ago, and I thought it was worthwhile. You'll learn the basics of snow/glacier travel. Beyond that, you'll need to practice those skills as often as you can.
