Was reading up on what the prizes were for the Tikka2 Contest. The mountaineering package for the second place prize is listed as:

Is this true? Can anyone confirm they are going to make a sum'tec hammer? I just got a sum'tec haven't got a chance to use it yet but would love for a hammer to be available too.

That's funny considering at last year's Winter OR where Petzl showed off the Sum'tec I told the rep it would be sweet if they made a hammer version (I thought it would compete well with the BD Venom) and he looked at me like I was from the moon. He said "no" . But maybe they've changed their mind. I would like to know this as well since I missed Winter OR this year.

No there will not be a hammer. I talked to Petzl NA and they have no plans on making one.

I was looking for one for that exact reason, a better swinging set similar to the Venom combo. Now I have to fine another hammer, thinking of an Aztarex....

Ya, I picked one up too. It climbs waterfall ice great for a "classic mountaineering axe", but now what do I do for a hammer? The Aztarex looks like the only other Petzl option
