Tell me about it! How do you keep your midriff-baring tanktops from sliding up, your harness from blocking your bellybutton and your beanie from falling off from your perfectly coiffed long locks?

How do you not have your ego smashed to thousands of tiny pieces by the 16 yr old who started last year; just sent your project, (yup, the black and yellow route up the middle lead wall) , in his (her) flip flops as their warm up.

And Welle, obviously that midriff-baring tank top was designed by a guy....

There’s always something too hard for me at the gym. Tuesday night was a Toyota night….everytime I tried to pull on the green crimp I would pop and experience a sudden acceleration. I guess I need a shim :D

Careful Rob. You'll get this thread banished to PnP.

No. Wait.... Never mind.

For many out there, I am certain that the GYM serves a very valuable purpose and training environment.

Please do remember though, when out in the real world of rock and ice, it is a whole different big ass enchilada that will eat you alive if one does not have the proper instruction and experience to play out there.

Apply the proper techniques to each different environment. Bottom line, be safe out there and use proper common sense, where ever it may be.

It will definitely keep you alive to return another day...

I had a climber friend who was even more abrasive than I've been at my worst. Whenever someone would brag about what they climbed at the gym, he'd say: "what are you practicing for?"

D'oh.

I love finding guys out here who wear their man... I mean lead... cards on their harnesses. I think I may start carrying my Skeletool around to cut those damn tags off. They're messy.

There are two gyms within reasonable driving distance of my home. One requires the use of a grigri for belaying. The other forbids it. Go figure.
