Help identify peaks

by BLong » Sun Mar 28, 2010 6:12 am

I took these shots on a flight from Aspen to Denver and was wondering if anyone could identify the range / peaks? I believe it is north of the Elk Mountains, but am not positive.

I'm guessing the first one is Mount Massive in the foreground and Mount Elbert behind, partially in clouds. To the right of Elbert would be the mountains in the vicinity of Independence Pass. The second is a zoom of the same area, with Elbert on the left and the Casco-Frasco group on the right.

Agreed on the third photo. That's Massive, which is unmistakable from the east at any angle, Arkansas Valley just south of Leadville in the foreground.

Thanks for the compliment - I am adding content daily but the more people that use it the better :-) I need help populating summit photos in the table. And of course more users writing articles and trip reports can't hurt 8)
