Elizabeth Hawley's book entitled "I'll call you in Katmandu" is a fascinating story about her life in Nepal.

Eberhard took over the work of Xavier, who is not doing so much anymore. Eberhard's work is based on, but goes far beyond, what either of the others have done. What you see on 8000ers.com is just a fraction of the work he does. He has the most accurate list of the world's mountains over 6500m ever compiled.

I'm not sure if Billi Bierling will carry on Ms Hawley's work when she stops. It's a lot of work to do and no one really wants to pay for it nowadays. It was always an imperfect process, so there is actually considerable room for improvement, but who will fund it?

I would guess that Billi Bierling would take over since she is so active with Ms. Hawley. Also she spent most of this past Everest season at Russel Brice's HIMEX base camp blogging for him. She is quite a nice person and seems very interested in ensuring accuracy of summit info as does Eberhard who does an incredible job. But to Damien's point, all this does seem to be a labor of love since it is hard to make any money with statistics.
