pisco anyone

by bledl » Tue Aug 17, 2010 2:00 am

Hey!

I just came back from Quitaraju (unfortunately bailed at the bergshrund) and have three days left (18., 19. 20. august). I would like to climb something relaxed, e.g. Pisco.
If interested send me an mail to Schnippiman@gmx.de
I am already acclimatized and have all my gear here in Huaraz.

Thanks, Flo.

Climbed it 7/30. The route was in great shape; very little crevasse danger. The only steep part was the last section (50 degree snow). Other than that, pretty straightforward.

Good luck! Fantastic views!

You think soloing it would be okay?

Unless things moved around a bit in the meantime, I'd say it would be an acceptable risk. There was only one crevasse to jump on the route and it was all the way in the beginning. The other ones were so small you couldn't really fall in them. Unless weather moved in and dropped a bunch of snow, there's a very clear path that you can follow now. If you leave around 2am, there should be some other groups going up as well. Just in case something were to happen, you won't be completely on your own.
