1 day Bob... Go for it!
(but actually I wouldn't worry about deleting trip reports so quickly)

I have sent an email to the owner since he was recently active. In it, I have explained that his pages need work and that there are people interested in doing it, and I have asked if he is willing to share or transfer. Also, I have said that if he keeps the pages but does not improve them, I will probably transfer them to the interested parties.
Well see how he responds, if he does, and go from there.
First and foremost, thank you for your time and effort. Second, I think I can (based on what I've seen just recently) predict what happens: The owner offers to share, somebody gets attracted and starts doing the job while the owner doesn't even bother to reply to his admin's emails, the other guy gets frustrated and takes his stuff off the page. The question remains: Why do such owners "create" a mtn/area page instead of an album (not to mention things such as having another pint in the local) – to stop others having fun
Ania has now signed up to SP, so I reckon these pages could be adopted. Me and LukZem more or less agreed with Ania taking ownership of the Area/Range page, and LukZem of the three mountain pages. with the other getting admin rights to the respective pages, and me on the background as an editor (Ania's English is not so great...)
I know Ania (who's in Zawiercie right now, so I don't know what she and LukZem have discussed already) and LukZem have exchanged some pm's lately, so maybe they can come out of this thread and share their insights with us...
PM has been sent to both.
Cheers,
Clint.

You can also claim their is always no bringing them back. What is anyone going to do about it?

Better creating a new page for the empty ones. For those containing a small information, given the content, it's not much fuss to do a CTRL C + V
Creating a new page has the advantage that old bad votes will be gone and the page will be visible in what's new

If you put them up for adoption for a while at least, then people will know they are available. If they are just nuked, then they may pass without people knowing they can be replaced.
Perhaps a forum thread could be developed listing what has been deleted. I know someone could scan this thread, but if there is a thread in each regional forum listing what in that area has been put up for adoption/deleted, it would be easier and quicker to pick up replacement pages.
