Isn't Camp 4 usually pretty okay by October?

Second that. . . I would think camping anywhere one wants in the valley, at this time of year, would be easy. We camped there in late Aug. and it wasn't really a problem. Wake up and you're there.

Well, we did it, mooching off some nice people from Oregon in Lower Pines who let us crash in their site.

I hate Camp 4...it's a pig sty in my opinion. Bathrooms are filthy, bear lockers are full of garbage from the last however many hundred people have slummed through without cleaning up after themselves, and there's always some doofus who thinks I want to listen to their crappy mandolin music until midnight or later. Maybe there are spots available if you want to wait in line at daybreak...but its not even an option anymore for me.
