Cool! That's the new single-wall tent? How did it do? Condensation?

Condensation was a bit rough, but a big part of it was due to the really warm temps. Even though we got dumped on, the temp was 37 degrees in the tent and not much colder outside. Once the wind died down we were able to vent the vestibule even more and that seemed to control it better. Overall, still very happy with the tent and first time using it in the middle of the winter. It did an excellent job of shedding snow especially consider the rate it was coming down.

It's a Black Diamond Firstlight. As Scott said, staying dry was tough because of the "warm" temps and the fact that it snowed continuously the whole trip.

Yeah, you will need some good sun in the meantime for it to consolidate. Post some pics when you go :)

No, we'll have to head back up in a couple of weeks once the snow melts out a bit and consolidates. A few warm sunny days should do the trick since we parked right at about 7k and it is all south facing. The pretty much only "safe" place to park was down by the Lone Pine campground as there was 2-3 feet of snow at the Road Closed turnout. I think they kinda missed the mark on the snow levels and amount for the storm.

Great photos! I Imagine the area has several additional feet by now.

Just read this:

"Water content in the snowpack in California's mountains was at 197 percent of normal and 169 percent of the average measurement for April 1 -- traditionally the date when the snow's water content is at its peak, said Ted Thomas, spokesman for the California Department of Water Resources"

Busy as heck. Taking off on an epic roadtrip tomorrow. We should catch up in the new year and do some climbing.
