Fun tour skinning up over Cardiff Pass/Peak, down into upper Mill D South, up to the Cardiac Saddle, then up to point 10,820 on the Cardiac Ridge this morning. (Always see this area from the north west portion of the valley, part of my work area, and thought it deserved a visit.) Skin track was iced over early this morning. Hard crust on the higher ridges, though north and east facing areas were ok. Same areas had about 8-12 inches over the rain crust.
Lake Bonneville is back...
Tons of helicopters assisting folks to the top today above Montreal Hill, and the upper Mineral Fork Ridge area below where I was. Also got a good close look at those glide cracks, two seperate ones. One is just on the south east slope of Superior, this one in the pic is just under point 10,820. Looked to be about 15 feet at it's widest point.
Great day to be up there.
