Saguaro Question

by CSUMarmot » Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:48 am

So I purchased a foot tall saguaro spring break 2010 and brought him home to Colorado (which is probably illegal), so I'm wondering if any of you have experience with growing a saguaro in a pot. Are there any tips/precautions I should take with him? He comes inside at night during the freeze months.

About a week ago we got some golfball sized hail while I was out, he lost two spike clusters and it ripped a 3" gash in him. Luckily the felt on the top didnt get damaged, and there is some new growth.

Could have been worse though, the hail ruined my roof, punched holes in the window screens and broke a window. My two other little cacti got merked though.
