Thanks Tazz! Yes we did. Actually Theron does his own music for most of his films which is great. I wish I could climb the route again, it was really excellent.

Movies that show people moving in alpine terrain always get me excited. It doesn't have to be "hard climbing." I love that convention where a camera in a helicopter zooms in on people climbing up a ridge, then circles them as well. At this time of year, a scene like that is motivation to exercise!

I am gonna post a vid I made in 2009. It is very fitting for the seasonal stoke. I suck at making vids but working on it. Two of my buddies and i spent 3 days in the Enchantments, climbed Dragontail and skied and boarded many spectacular lines! Damn MVS, you have me all pumped up and wanting to get out now when snow is piling and avy conditions suck. I am gonna have to get creative.

anyway..enjoy folks, winter is here and time to change gears.

The funny thing about that "I'm not leading"/"You have to" line, was that I was clove hitched into a kind of elaborate 3-nut anchor and extracting myself would be really tough. Much better for Aidan to just keep going! Luckily he didn't really mind...

Back in the early 70s there was a short movie called " Solo "with a guy named Mike Hoover. Havent seen it around for awhile. Though a bit contrived it is the film that inspired me to be a mountaineer.

Huh, this popped up again.

Earlier someone mentioned the Eiger Sanction. It's a good film and I like it, but it's funny, because it is filmed in very far apart but similar looking areas. The plane Eastwood takes to his friend's climbing ranch lands on a dirt strip NE of Kayenta, AZ off of US 163, and minutes later they arrive at the ranch which is actually the Lodge in Zion Canyon at Zion National Park, hundreds of miles away. Later, they are climbing towers in the Monument Valley area, hundreds of miles away, again. They do at least "train" with George in the Zion area. Few would ever notice this subtle filming issue. Most would notice that George was a female, and rather busty.
