Ice climbing West Virginia

Any Ice Climbing in WV? Where? Issues? Good? NEice and NEclimbs don't have much on it.

I would think there would be a few, but my guess is they are fairly secluded. A few summers ago I hiked up the highest peak in WV, and there was a 30 foot waterfall that looked pretty sweet. I'm sure it freezes up, but I doubt its a solid freeze for long when it does.

Yes, there is ice climbing in WV.

Mostly in the higher elevations in the eastern part of the state.

Need a long cold snap for the ice to form and stay in shape.

My buddy does a fair amount of ice climbing (top roping) out of the Fayetteville area. I can put you in touch if you're serious. Send me an e-mail.
