I'm seeing conflicting reports online about the length of the Highline Trail, anywhere from 78 to 100 miles. The Trails Illustrated map doesn't list distances, so I've approximated the entire trail from Leidy Peak TH to Hayden Pass TH to be in the 90 mile range. Can someone please confirm? Also, what's the preferred direction? Looks to be east to west.
Did the highline 4-5 years ago. I think someone in our group GPS'd it an 80-90 miles. For what its worth this was our schedule and it worked out nice: Night 1 chepeta night 2 kidney lakes night 3 tungsten lake night 4 dead horse lake night 5 carolyn lake just over rocky sea pass night 6 my bed at home
One of the best trips of my life! I liked the east to west direction.
