Advanced rigging technique

Postby Shane Rathbun » Mon Mar 05, 2012 5:19 pm

Can anyone recommend any books that cover in-depth rigging technique? (rescue, mountain rescue, tactical, ships, etc.) I'm more interested in a book that covers the art and science rather than specific systems. Thanks.

Not entirely sure what this means.

For mountain and industrial rescue, one of the go-to books is the Technical Rescue Riggers Guide by Lipke. Lots of useful stuff, but it's more of an applied reference to go along with outside instruction and not long on "theory" - why we build everything to 20KN, various "tests" like the whistle & bolt cutter tests, use of prusiks for a dynamic catch, etc.
