And so, we now understand the trouble with forums:

ExcitableBoy provided a link to ski mountaineering history I guess; I didn't follow it. That was not the point of the original post.

mountaingazelle mentioned Ben Lomond had been skied many times before. Oh, really? That was not the point of the original post.

Icarreau seemed to want to present an argument about future ski mountaineers, but lost his thread immediately.

mvs made several assumptions about the women. Who mentioned young, hot, ice axes or crampons? Why not assume they were lesbian? That was not the point of the original post.

Sarah Simon de-railed things very nicely, and from here on, no one could bring it back. Icarreau tried, but failed, and later spun off again.

Hey, let's forget about it. I'm going hiking/skiing/climbing/cycling. I doubt I'll see you out there...

So, you're complaining about the replies to your OP, is that the gist of your last post or did I get that wrong too? I'm going to walk my dogs, doubt I'll see you there.

Ahh...the hopes for yet another intelligent internet forum discussion have been shattered. Bet Larry has a song for that one.

Dude, we aren't robots, here to respond to you like filling out a form. I heard about a politician paying people to comment on his Twitter feed, maybe you can hire some of those people to fit their replies to your mental conception of good behavior. Next time keep yer musings to yerself if you'll get bent out of shape enough to write a complaint letter to a room full of passerbys :D.

(edit, to add...)

And BTW, the things I said about those anonymous women I saw were meant entirely as good natured compliments, if perhaps delivered with a saucy wink. Why did you have to bring up this lesbianism idea? What on earth did I say that led you to that? And you are piqued at other people missing the point? Good night nurse!
