Leaking Mountain Hardwear Trango?

by chadbw » Wed Aug 29, 2012 4:58 pm

Hi,

I'm a new member of summitpost but have been using the site for advice and trip planning for quite a while. I've owned a Mountain Hardwear Trango 3.1 for about 8 months and on a recent trip it began leaking during a thunderstorm. Water was all over the inside of the fly, but, fortunately, did not drip onto the tent itself, so we were nice and dry, but I'm a bit worried for more intense trips. This was the first time it had ever happened that I had noticed, even though I've camped in several storms.
Should I seam seal it? Is something defective? Did I make the problem worse by not being able to dry it out immediately? (We were on a long trip, so it had to be stuffed back into a bag while dripping wet).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
