A reminder again to keep the waist area free from tight belts. Your guts get forced outwards in the abdomen, which then overstrains the connective fascia tissue. Hernias are mostly ruptures in the paper-thin fascia (gristle), while the muscle wall remains unaffected. Fascia is not an easy material to reliably stitch together, so reinforcing is sometimes inserted.
