Swiss Alps Hiking Guidebook

by EastcoastMike » Sun Feb 24, 2013 10:46 pm

Hello all,

I will be spending a couple of nights in Zurich and want to get out into the Alps to do some hiking. I am having trouble finding a good hiking guidebook. Ideally the wife and I are looking for a marked trail or easy scramble up a peak that would take an entire day and give us a good Alps experience. We are thinking Lucerne will probably be our best bet for a starting point. We are up for a good amount of physical exertion. Any ideas for books or the hike itself would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Mike

For hiking I would just pick up a map (www.swisstopo.ch) from the area you have chosen. There are plenty of trails and the marking is usually very good.
