buying a harness on online

by Strider » Sun Nov 17, 2013 11:00 pm

Seriously , isn't it kinda scary to buy such an important item online from a seller you don't know storing the gear in god knows where.
i mean a harness made of fabric in the bottom line. and i guess storage conditions are important .

would you buy a a harness on ebay for exmaple ?

I would never buy a used harness, but I buy new harnesses online from trusted retailers all the time.

Depends. Used or new? Mega seller, or some dude selling it out of his pile of junk in the garage?

A harness is not that expensive to start with considering that your life depends on it.

Decent harness are often on sale at reputable dealers -- it's rare that one need pay more than $40-$50. Backcountry, mountain gear, rei, many others... I trust them to sell decent gear.
