I'm a bit amazed at how little reaction there was to the following page:

http://www.summitpost.org/vittorio-sell ... ram/934814

created and posted by SP member om (http://www.summitpost.org/users/om/383). Vittorio Sella was one of the most skilled photographers of his day, and apart from this album being a fantastic historical document, also very interesting for glaciologists (all the photos were taken in 1909), the quality and detail Vittorio Sella managed to achieve in these pictures, considering the comparatively modest means one still had in those days, is many times simply amazing!! I felt it necessary to point this out, as I find SummitPost has received a very valuable contribution here!

This is definitely the wrong thread and forum for this post. Since I can't think of an existing thread this neatly fits into, I suggest posting a new thread about it in either Site Feedback or Asia.

Abandoned Pages in Need of Adoption

I switched Les Courtes page (Orphanage) ownership to Cissa, who climbed the Suisse route just a few days ago.

I noticed that chskier (http://www.summitpost.org/users/chskier/11937) had not updated Basin Peak (http://www.summitpost.org/basin-peak/152695) and Castle Peak (http://www.summitpost.org/castle-peak/152352) in the Lake Tahoe area since 2005 and 2006 respectively. The pages aren't too bad (i.e. nothing that would get somebody horribly lost), but the information is pretty generic for such popular mountains, and there are broken links and generally outdated information. The pages need a tune up given they get dozens of hikers on summer weekends. I e-mailed the page owner a few weeks ago, with no reply, and sent him a PM on June 19. He hasn't been active since January 26, 2013.

I have hiked both of these multiple times.

Since the owner seems to have left SP, I will transfer them to you.

Thank you Scott. I updated the pages. If you would like, you can put them on the What's New page as recently reworked.

Hi Bob/Elves! There are two pages in the Black Hills are in serious need of updating. Both owners have not logged in for a very long time. I have tried to contact each with an offer to partner with them to update these pages, but have received no response. Here is a summary:

1. Little Devils Tower, by Tjarvela. http://www.summitpost.org/little-devils-tower/172671 Tjarvela last logged in Aug. 11, 2011. The trail has been greatly changed by Custer State Park. Many of the links do not work. Fees have changed, etc. I sent a PM Apr 12 2015

2. Bear Butte, by Koonsy http://www.summitpost.org/bear-butte/535008 Koonsy last logged in Oct. 13, 2013. Very little info on this page, fees have changed, much that could be done to improve this page. I sent a PM March 19 2015

Both these summits are worthy of improved pages. Both are on my list of annual hikes. So, if you are willing to add me in as a partner on these pages, I can keep them updated. Please advise me about these and what I can do to help. Thanks! panhandletrails

Belknap Crater

by hgrapid » Mon Oct 05, 2015 7:10 pm

http://www.summitpost.org/belknap-crater/151137

Belknap Crater hasn't been updated in 10 years. It doesn't say exactly when the last time the page owner was on SP, but it appears that it was some time in 2005. I have never climbed it, so I cannot adopt. But I asked him three months ago if he could add the latitude/longitude and got no reply.

I think the page is probably adequate for now, even though it is a ghost page without anyone maintaining it. But the coordinates should at least be added: 44.284920, -121.842285

Hello, I really like to trail run at the Grand Canyon. I notice that the Bright Angel trail page has not been updated since August 5, 2002. I tried to get in touch with the owner but he has not been responsive. Actually, the owner has not been active on the summit post site since September 11, 2014. How do I go about it? Thanks
