Quick! Need a down jacket recommendation for GF!

I have a Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Hooded Down Jacket I bought a couple years ago. It is great. I wanted to get the same jacket for my girlfriend (so she will stop wearing mine when it's really cold), but it's discontinued.

Can someone recommend an equivalent model? I need this by Christmas.

Here are the specs.

My lady likes the First Ascent Mountain Guide Hooded Down Jacket...Nothing like huddling down out of the 45 mph wind after doing a 2000 foot gully. Cozy :wink:

Did I talk to you on backcountry.com? I swear I remember someone chatting in this exact question. I still think the Ama Dablam is the best down jacket available for women. The selection of quality down jackets for women isn't all that great, to be honest.

I got the jacket from you guys and was a bit disappointed. It's not quite as heavy-duty as mine. But we'll see how she likes it on Christmas morning.

My wife has a sub zero jacket (no hood) that she's worn twice. It's a black Medium, in perfect shape, she'll sell it for $75.

I bought bird's wife Sub Zero and when it came we were really disappointed. It seemed to be flimsier than the Hunker Down! Nothing like my male Sub Zero. I ended up giving the jacket to a friend whose GF will be wearing it around town.

These clothing companies really dumb down their outerwear for the ladies. I guess it's out of the question that women might actually be using these items in extreme circumstances just like the guys do. The women's versions of both the Hunker Down and the Sub Zero featured a smaller, "cuter" cut.

What year was the jacket? Sometimes the evolution of the material and construction changes year to year, and your sub zero might be an older version obviously superior.
