"Other rangers reached him at around 10,000 feet and confirmed he had died"

Recovering a strangers body is tough enough. I can't even imagine recovering the body of a friend. Very sad day.

I knew the name Nick Hall sounded familiar. Turns out he was a friend of a friend. Tough year in the Cascades so far; deaths on Hood, Rainier and Baker, all within days of each other. Be careful out there.

Very sad news. Its extra sad when lives get lost attempting to save others.

Very nice tribute to Nick in this post from his co-workers. May he RIP.
