I assume you mean a Nepalese company?

Assian trekking, Thamersku and Monterosa all have on-going concerns to the best of my knowledge. As for reliability, you kind of get what you pay for although for many experienced people, their services are completely adequate and offers better value for money than the western outfits.

For the western outfitters

summitclimb, project himalaya and himex

Everest Outfitters

As Radson said, you generally get what you pay for, basic logistic support is inexpensive but if you want carpet and strip-lighting in your tent, then Himex will cost you €40,000 or so.
For local companies Aisan Trekking is probably the most experienced and have provided support to many "independent" climbers over the years.
If you want a "Western" company then I can recommend summitclimb having climbed with them previously. However, if you want someone to hold your hand, figuratively speaking - which I've noticed a surprising number of people do, especially when they get there - then they are not for you. The offer two levels of service; full and basic. Check out their webiste for further details www.summitclimb.com/new. 7Summits might also be worth checking out.
Are you planning a summit bid?

rdesota, I have already paid for my permit for 'E' next year , so will see you there. I have also climbed with summitclimb and can recommend them. If you would like to swap/share any info, please drop me a line.

I climbed with summitclimb and they're good folks. I'm planning on doing Everest North in 2008 too. I'm trying to work something out either with asian trekking or summitclimb. PM me and we can get a discount if we go in together.

Harpner you got me thinking about a few things, mainly collaborative efforts and sharing information. I whisked up this facebook group to share information for people like us attempting next year.

I'm surprised you guys are getting permits for a spring 2008 attempt. I met with some CMA guys last week and asked about the China Team Climb which will include trying to get the olympic torch to the summit. The CMA is not releasing any details, but if it happens, the place will probably be taken over by the army for at least a month. It is very important for China to succeed on their summit attempt, it will be a major siege.

Don't want to cast a negative light on your planning, but you don't want to be anywhere near the mountain while the Chinese are there. PM me if you want me to dig for more details.

I heard all the Tibet sherpas are taken over by the olympic summit attempt but permits are still available. You just need to pay more for the sherpas from Nepal.
