When reworked pages are featured on SP's front page, what determines how long they stay there?

Hi Bill,

Sorry not to answer any sooner; I just hadn't seen your original post.

I'm one of those that feature reworked pages. The time that a featured reworked page stays on the front page is flexible, primarily depending on how many candidates there are to be featured. During the course of last year the stream of candidates dwindled to a trickle, and therefore the period crept up to 8 days. When things pick up again, the period gets shorter. At the moment, we're aiming at about 4 days on the front page. Personally I think that it's likely that the period will get longer again, but nothing is harder to predict than the future.

Recently there was a misunderstanding among the elves, and a few pages got replaced much too early. I'm planning to give those pages a second chance soon, probably sometime next month.

Rob
