San Juans: Molas Pass area conditions?

Postby Clark_Griswold » Mon Jun 10, 2013 3:36 pm

I would like to pay a visit to the Molas Pass area later this week and am wondering what the snow conditions are like in the higher terrain west of the pass. I am considering hiking or biking some trails through what I think is probably the most accessible tundra in the state. Might summit some peaks, like Turks Cap or not, or Engineer from the Coal Bank Pass further south. I might not, too, I'm just staying flexible and looking for some fun things to do up high. Thanks for any info.

Peaks in Molas Pass area are fine... Engineer is a great one, and Sultan, Grand Turk are accessed from the south - great conditions now. Wildflowers just starting....
