Hopefully this doesnt turn into a thread about who's got the better acclimatization scheme :!:

After climbing on Ojos Del Salado i'll be on this schedule for aconcagua via. the normal route.

Jan 14 - 15 in Mendoza at the NH hotel
Jan 16 - Confluencia
Jan 17 - Mulas
Jan 18 - Canada
Jan 19 - Condores
Jan 20 - Berlin
Then the group will be at the whim of the weather!

If anyone wants to meet up somewhere down there give me a pm just like Adventurer said, i'm totally up for meeting other sp'ers playing around down south!

:!: Good luck to everyone down there this year :!:

I'll be there with a group from Dec 22 - Jan 13 doing the Polish Direct and spending a couple of days in Mendoza at the end so give me a call at the El Portal Suites hotel on the 13th/14th and maybe we can get out for a beer at Don Tristan's.

Just thought i'd let you all know i'm no longer going to be allowed to goto aconcagua this year  as my doctors have forced me back into the hospital for another fun round of chemo  which will leave me as weak as a new born baby once again. So i've been forced to postpone plans until 2008, but there's numerous other mountains i've got on my todo list for 2007 in spring so there's no slowing me down :!:

My good friend Azra (summitpost member) should be from December month on her way to Aconcagua, but probably she can give you more informations about that.

Also she should be first woman from Bosnia on that Southamerican peak.

I wish her all luck and good weather...

I realize now that my dates are not fixed. Was hoping to head to bolivia first but I'll leave that till later in the year.
Would like to go for the last 14 meters on Aconcagua. In Jan 2005 was involved in a rescue of a texan guy with HACE and had a 40 hour shortroping descent with him and two other bulgarians who helped out. Could see the summit cross! and still went down.
So...would be intersted to know who is going down there (a) with giuded companies or similar and (b) who is going down self-supported and when for both options.
I'd like to meet up with SP'ers to do either the Polish traverse or Polish direct, maybe ameghino and another peak opposite base camp for acclimitization (and boredom relief) and then maybe a trip to cordon del plata on the way back.
All details helpful as I'd liek to sort flights by the end of the weekend

cheers
