The Crossroads Cafe.

by Guyzo » Thu Oct 08, 2009 7:01 pm

Well it’s getting to be the “Josh” season….. sigh.

TM has TPR and the Who Nellie, Mobil Mart.

But Josh has “The Crossroads Cafe”

Definitely the best place to eat at any climbing spot/town ever.

“I’ll take the salad with seared tuna and a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, thank you.”

"I'll have the stuffed french toast and a double latte, thank you."

Makes me look forward to winter and climbing scruffy little rocks.

But then…

Image I’ll have the wild harvest salad with seared ahi add on, and a black and tan, please.

He did have a good baseline to judge the true difficulty of the climb after watching some "regular climbers do it" ....... 8)

Crossroads is nice. So many good friends in the same place. And Bonny take such good care of us all. Although if you do breakfast there, two things are gonna be true about that morning; you are getting to the stone way late, and you are gonna be too full to climb hard.

Yeah that's why I never eat breakfast in town unless it's snowing...

Pilates class in camp is a better way to start the day.

Was there this past Sunday and Bonnie says hi to all those with scraped knuckles and sore toes. The place was packed by ~6pm. My typical order: Grilled Coyote, salad and SNPA. Mmmmm……love those Portobellos :D

If you want to get serious, the place to eat out there is the 29 Palms Inn. And I doubt that Bonnie will mind me mentioning it, since she already has a line around the block for her place.

Country Kitchen?

Poser Paradise?

The ticket is to show up at Crossroads on a weeknight. Sit at the counter. Chat with Bonnie. Eat great food. No posing though. Just have to find the right balance of spray and slander to pull it off...

Very good blueberry pancakes. Her eggs are really good, too.

I dunno. I think the classic climber breakfast is the "Country eggs benedict" at Jack's. You taste it all the way to Bishop Pass.
