Time estimate for Eagle Rock Loop / Ouachita

by deungsan » Sun Oct 16, 2016 9:41 pm

Considering a trail run on Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas' Ouachita National Forest.

It's supposed to be about 26 miles long.

Seems that the numerous climbs and water crossings can take much longer than a straightforward run.

Hoping to do it in a day. Anyone done it? Thanks.

I haven't done that one. That being said, 26 miles isn't out of the question, but it depends on your fitness level. 32 mile, high altitude runs get done in 8hrs or less. Try it with a plan to just turn around if feeling gassed. Have fun!
