Even though it seems that self-promotion is frowned upon, this is an awesome TR that definitely deserves the front page - I can't believe I missed it when it came out!

Wow, this is a great TR:

How did he get the pictures so big? I set mine to the largest setting and they were still not as big.

There's a trick: upload the images at the size you want them to appear in your TR. Insert them normally at whatever size. Then preview the page and ask "view source" in your browser. Find the somewhat complicated HTML code that corresponds to the image (for instance by searching the caption). Copy and paste it in your original page, and replace the URL for the image by the one for the fullsize one between the img tags, and pronto: nice and fat images in the page!

Hi there,

Firstly I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed your TR and your photos are nothing short of amazing HOWEVER, your photos are too big and your page is too wide. You should never post anything to SP with a width greater than 800px, otherwise you end up with a lot of scrolling for people who use most laptops/notebooks or have smaller desktop monitors. You should also note that many people choose not fill their entire screen with their internet browser, choosing to run other applications alongside it (for instance I often stream TV programs or films alongside mine).

Cheers
Dan

..again... the photos would be too large for a significant proportion of screens.

Not to mention the ability of "not so trustworthy" people to save to desktop and claim as their own. That's the whole reason I reduce the file size of my entries by over 50%. Eliminates the possibility of someone using my image for their own use... Once they try to enlarge, it'll pixelate and be useless to them.

I'm still in awe how many photos (and good ones at that) I stumble across on SP which could easily be saved and resubmitted elsewhere as my own.

Regards,
Kris
