Berghaus Cristallo Gore Windstopper Softshell

by qwerty1111 » Fri Oct 24, 2014 12:55 pm

Hi,

I have a Berghaus Cristallo Gore Windstopper Softshell that is water-repellent with a micro-grid, and light fleece backer adds some extra insulation .

There are venting zips underarm also.

Something similar at the Berghaus Valparola GORE WINDSTOPPER Softshell that is the new model.

I wanted to use it as a winter jacket as an outer shell for travelling in towns in Central Europe where the weather can be windy, snowy and temperatures as -5 or -10 degrees.

I planned to use merino underwear and was wondering what else I can wear under this Cristallo softshell to keep me warm in these conditions without being too bulky?

Is a fleece would be enough (too much?)for these temperatures?

I was thinking to wear a Patagonia R3 under the softshell?

1- Base Layer => merino underlayer
2- Mid Layer : ?
3- Insulating Layer : ?
4- Outer Shell=>Softshell Windstopper with micro-grid and water-repellent

Thanks for your advice.

Marc

Winter is Central Europe are very cold and windy :-) I don't feel confident going there as this time with my baselayer and the softshell, even if it's windproof.
I would like to add a fleece under the softshell but which one?
