Chamonix partner august 2015

by Rubenies » Sat May 02, 2015 11:23 am

Hi!

I'm looking for a partner to climb with in the month of August.
At the moment I'm looking at the Dent du Geant.
I've got no trad experience though but in sportclimbing, I lead up to 6c.
Other snow ridges that I'm looking at are the Domes de Miages and the Aiguille Bionnassay, the Tour ronde...

I am driving down from Frankfurt and will be in cham around the 22 july.
I am 60 with loads of alps experience such as the dru couiloir walker central piller freney etc.
I am interested in climbing some easy routes if you are interested in some thing like grand charmoz
the easy rock ridge or the standard route on MT Blanc or the west face of the eiger or monte rosa I would be up for that.
Where are you staying when you are there? The ski area in Argientiere?

Hi there I am also in the Alps from 15th - 22nd August. Looking for a partner to do similar stuff.

From West Sussex, UK

I have trad kit and alpine kit. Experience is as below:

-Trad - Have led a variety of Severe routes in South Wales, Cornwall and
North Wales, one HS route. Seconded many routes up to HVS.
-Mixed climbing - led one, and seconded many Grade IIs in Scotland
-Alps - Did a PYB alpine course in the Alps three years ago. This was before I could
lead climb though. On our final day we ascended Aigulle de Tour. Have explored some AD peaks, both unsuccessful.
-Mountains - lots of winter and summer navigation in navigationally challenging parts of the UK.
-Altitude - have climbed at about 6000m in Pakistan - ice at 45 degrees
at the steepest I would say, but challenging with the thinner air and
Pakistani heat!

Rupal Peak. It is in the Himalayan range. It is a few hours hike then drive from where the Hindu-Kush, Himalayan and Karakoram ranges meet. An incredible part of the world.

Hello

I am arriving on Chamonix at night today (21/8)

I would like to do the Arethe Cosmique.

I have done 3 ice climbs in south america, but lots of other mountains and ice climbing up to 6 degree.

I would like to sleep on Refuge Cosmique and clibing on Sunday.

I also accept to share a guide.

Please advise.

Best Regards
Ricardo
